Also for Tyrol – who got how much? All Corona help now online

Date:

“Cost what it may” was the motto of the government during the corona lockdowns. Numerous companies in Austria received financial support. It is now known how the pie of 40 billion euros is divided – also in Tyrol.

The state aid has been available since Thursday at www.transparenzportal.gv.at (and the “Personal publication of Covid-19 economic aid” field). Just like with a search engine, you can filter by company name, zip code, industry, etc. The data is available when the total support per calendar year exceeds 10,000 euros. In general, the years 2020, 2021 and 2022 are recorded on the portal.

“Taxpayers have a right to know”
Different categories of support are listed. The largest are the Covid-19 failure bonus with 4.9 billion euros, the fixed cost subsidy with 3.6 billion euros and the lockdown sales substitute with 3.4 billion euros. “Taxpayers have a right to know how their money is being used,” Treasury Secretary Magnus Brunner (ÖVP) justified this move. Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler (Greens) spoke of “new benchmarks in Austria’s finance culture” set by this transparency offensive.

Aid for mountain railways above 10 million euros
The “Krone” received an overview of the amounts paid out in the individual categories.

  • Major Tyrolean cable car companies received support of more than 10 million euros. Mid-sized ski areas halved.
  • Renowned large Tyrolean hotels could also count on six-figure amounts. In one case in the Kitzbühel district, total corona aid amounted to approximately 4.7 million euros.
  • A stately country inn with hotel activities in the district of Innsbruck-Land came to 800,000 euros.
  • Bus and taxi companies were hit hard: an example from the Landeck district reveals support of 930,000 euros.
  • Snow sports schools also got a helping hand: Because the ski instructors were forced to keep quiet, about 410,000 euros flowed to a company in the Imst district.
  • Commercial and craft businesses were also supported. An electricity company with 50 employees in the Schwaz district received approximately 130,000 euros.
  • In general, the aid went to production companies, dealers and all kinds of service providers – to museums, car dealers, advertising agencies, security services, zoos, hair salons, movie theaters and much more.
