Minors keep the police busy with operations in Vienna’s Donaustadt. Parents have organized a pick-up service.
There are five young boys who have been causing fear and terror in the area around Seestadt Aspern since September.
“Our children are harassed and harassed on the way to school. Cell phones and wallets are repeatedly requested,” said a desperate father who wishes to remain anonymous. The parents have now even organized their own pick-up service. The persons between the ages of 12 and 14 are said to have already committed several offenses in the field of property crime. The Vienna police confirm operations in the area. But the problem: the boys are still criminally liable!
The hands of the police are still tied
City councilor Toni Mahdalik (FPÖ) is now enough: “It is unacceptable that young Syrian criminals terrorize decent children and young people in Seestadt.” District manager Ernst Nevrivy (SPÖ) holds his hands: “It’s unbearable that there is no handle there. They don’t have a criminal age yet, but that changes when they turn 14, from then on they are finally arrested and punished!”
The Vienna police is investigating, filing a report and filing a report with the public prosecutor. With close contact with the city’s magistrate in charge and a regular patrol, they now want to get the problem under control on the spot.
