A drunk 23-year-old from southeastern Styria crashed head-on into another vehicle in Kirchbach on Tuesday around 9 a.m.: he was uninjured, the other driver (49) had to be taken to hospital with serious injuries.
It was nearly 9 a.m. on All Saints’ Day when a 23-year-old from the Southeast Styria district got into the car drunk. A slight right turn on the L 202 in the area of Kirchbichl towards Kirchbach killed him and then the other driver. The 23-year-old ended up in the oncoming lane and collided head-on with an oncoming car.
49-year-old seriously injured
Both vehicles were a total loss in the accident. The 23-year-old who caused the accident escaped unexpectedly – the 49-year-old, who was seriously injured in the crash, was in the other car. The rescuers took him to Lkh Feldbach.
The road section remained closed to all traffic during the operation.
