Eleven days after the crash of German entrepreneur Rainer Schaller’s private plane off the coast of Costa Rica, the search has finally been called off. No further clues have been found, the Costa Rican Coast Guard said Tuesday.
“We have done everything humanly possible,” said director Martín Arias. So far, only the bodies of a child and a man have been found. The identity of the dead was not initially disclosed. According to Security Secretary Jorge Torres, relatives of one of the victims visited the accident site on Tuesday.
Schaller was on board with his family
McFit founder Schaller, his partner, the two children, another German and the Swiss pilot were on board the private plane at the time of the October 21 crash. The plane was coming from Mexico and crashed into the sea near the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. The causes of the crash are still unclear.
