Spectacular traffic accident Tuesday morning in the Tyrolean lowlands: a Tyrolean woman (40) drove her car, in which her one-year-old daughter was also traveling, into oncoming traffic in Kirchberg and collided with the car of a Swiss couple. The latter fell over and even caught fire!
The accident happened shortly after 9:30 am on the B170 Brixentalstrasse. The 40-year-old local woman drove her car from Kitzbühel towards Westendorf. The one-year-old daughter was also on board in a child seat in the back seat.
Near Kirchberg, her car suddenly drove into oncoming traffic for an unknown reason. “A collision occurred with the oncoming car of a Swiss couple,” the police reported.
Car overturned, occupants were unharmed
As a result, the holidaymakers’ car (51 and 56 years old) skidded and overturned. “They were unharmed and were able to extricate themselves from the vehicle,” investigators continued.
Immediately afterwards the car suddenly caught fire. The fire was eventually extinguished by the Kirchberg fire brigade. There was extensive damage to both vehicles.
Fortunately, the 40-year-old Tyrolean woman and her daughter also escaped the fright.
