On the day of the Viennese Pride, according to the police, a brutal assault took place in the first district. At the time, the suspect was traveling with a group of five men and met the woman and her companion at the scene of the fire around 6:50 p.m. A confrontation ensued between the men and the woman and her companion.

The suspect then kicked and punched the woman. Shortly afterwards, the suspect fled. A witness tried to stop the men, but the suspect kicked her in the stomach.
