The additional burden that postal voting entails in view of the elections in the post offices has led to 101 offices in the Basque Country opening their doors “exclusively” this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to facilitate this process .
To speed up voting by mail for the elections to the House of Representatives on 23 July, the Post Offices will exceptionally open their doors this Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm. Similarly, evening hours are extended in those offices that work in the afternoon. In this way, the afternoon program between the 13th and the 20th is extended to 10 p.m.
The deadline for requesting a mail ballot ends today and the last day to deposit it is Thursday of next week, the 20th. Correos recommends not waiting until the last day to do so.
The additional burden of postal voting in light of postal elections has meant that 101 offices in the Basque Country (52 in Bizkaia, 38 in Gipuzkoa and 11 in Álava) will “exclusively” open their doors this Saturday open to facilitate this procedure for citizens between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The central offices of the capitals also open at the same hours on Saturday: Alameda Urquijo in Bilbao, Urdaneta in San Sebastián and Postas in Vitoria.
In addition, Correos has decided to extend the opening hours of the offices that open in the afternoon to 10 p.m. from today until July 20, the last day.
Correos has also arranged for the opening to the public when necessary in cities that celebrate local holidays this month.
