They also stick to the Austrian roads. German politicians now demand long prison terms: “Stop being funny!”

“Last generation” climate activists have left helpers in Berlin with no life-threatening injuries after an accident. The cyclist (44) is still struggling with death. Now the fun is over!

‘Soon to be in custody for the whole week’
The head of the police union, Rainer Wendt, demands in the “Bild”: “Don’t be squeamish when it comes to averting danger! If an activist sticks to the street for a week on day 1 of an announced action, he must stuck all week.”

Federal Justice Minister Marco Buschmann (FDP) also sees no room for false leniency: “A so-called charity does not justify all means!” The demand for tougher action is not without reason. “Since February, the police have had more than 130,000 hours of action because of the glue blockades,” explains Berlin Mayor Franziska Giffey (SPD). In 18 cases, rescue vehicles were blocked.

1900 criminal charges were filed. There are 729 proceedings for coercion and dangerous interference in road traffic and a total of 241 injunctions have been requested.
