Tragic news after the accident in Niklasdorf (Styria) Tuesday: The 53-year-old driver from the Leoben district has since succumbed to his serious injuries in hospital. The Styrian, who crashed into a container with his car, may have had a medical emergency while driving. An autopsy was ordered.
From the street, through a mesh fence and then with full force against a container parked on the company site: a tragic accident took place in Niklasdorf (Leoben district) in the evening on All Saints’ Day.
The 53-year-old driver was resuscitated at the scene of the accident and then flown to the hospital in BRuck an der Mur with the rescue helicopter C17.
Suffered from injuries in hospital
On Wednesday it was announced that the man died in hospital on Tuesday evening despite extensive resuscitation measures. Police say an autopsy will determine the exact cause of death.
According to current knowledge, a medical emergency can be assumed while driving. No other people were involved in the accident.
