In Germany, a man in Walldürn, Baden-Württemberg, is said to have held and raped at least one young woman for several days with the help of his brother. The 37-year-old is suspected of holding and violating the 26-year-old against her will between October 15 and 19, the Mosbach prosecutor said Thursday.
The victim eventually managed to alert an acquaintance, who called the police. According to the investigation, the fate of the woman could not have been an isolated case: “Other victims have since been identified,” said a spokesman for the prosecutor’s office. “According to the current state of the investigations, the police and the prosecutor’s office assume that there are other potential victims.” This suspicion was also confirmed by the search of the alleged crime scene and the investigations.
Brother of suspect also in custody
The 37-year-old man is accused of taking hostages in conjunction with particularly serious rapes and dangerous bodily harm. He was taken to a psychiatric hospital with an arrest warrant, the prosecutor’s office said. The man’s 23-year-old brother is said to have offered help. He was arrested on suspicion of complicity.

With the arrest of the two suspects, the police put an end to the ordeal of the woman.
