For days, Eleonore A., a single and withdrawn retiree (81), lay dead in her apartment – in one of the largest apartment blocks in the city. An acquaintance found the stabbed body wrapped in cloth on August 30, 2020. Forensic medicine counted 28 stitches.
Mass DNA test led police to suspect
For months, the detectives were looking for the perpetrator and brought in a well-known criminal psychologist in Thomas Müller. Müller’s suggestion proved valuable. Therefore, the Kripo conducted a DNA mass test on 37 male residents.
Retiree denies the allegations
The genetic material of a pensioner (62) has been unequivocally proven 13 times at the crime scene and on the body of the murder victim. They were immediately arrested in Wiener Neustadt. The suspect moved there in the summer of 2021. For months, the suspect lived undisturbed next to the crime scene. So far, the trained plumber has denied the allegations.
He will face a jury on Monday. Three days of negotiations are planned.
