As confirmed by the Interior Ministry, members of the Identitarian Movement attempted to climb the ministry’s balcony around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday. However, this could have been prevented by the “considerate property protection of the government district”.
Identities have been established. Apparently the activists had tried to put up a banner.
According to the BMI, Mathias Schnedlitz, Martin Rutter and Martin Sellner will be speakers in Vienna during the day.
The Bureau for the Protection of the Constitution lists the Identitarians as a right-wing extremist group. Their symbols are also banned – based on the Symbols Act, which has been in force since July 2021.
