CC.OO., UGT and Semaf have called off the strike due to progress in negotiations with the company, claims that CGT considers insufficient. They have called for a stop this Monday and next Friday the 11. Renfe will guarantee the minimum services set by the Ministry of Transport.
CBT has called strike in Renfe for the days November 7 and 11 (from 12:00 to 23:00), after the majority of the unions in the company, CC.OO. UGT and Semaf are calling off the strike they announced a few weeks ago, given that the company had promised to continue signing a new collective labor agreement and, among other things, increase salaries.
However, CGT points out that these agreements that led to the termination are “insufficient to really improve the working conditions of the group of railway workers”.
Faced with the proposal for a salary increase of 3.5% for this year with retroactive effect from January 1, 2022 and 3.5% and 2.5% for 2023 and 2024 respectively, CGT bets on requesting a raise in line with the IPC so as not to lose purchasing power.
It also calls for the abolition of wage scales, not just their reduction; a greater increase in calls for public employment for Renfe and a further elaboration of the proposal to reduce the working day to 35 hours per week.
Minimum services
According to the resolution of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (MITMA), the minimum essential services are set at 75% during rush hour on Cercanías trains and at 50% of the usual service during the rest of the day, with the aim to reconcile the right to strike and the right to mobility.
In Medium and Avant trains, an average of 65% of the usual services is set and in High-speed and Long-distance trains at 72%. With regard to freight trains, 25% of the usual service will run.
