According to calculations by the United Nations (UNO), the number of people in the world passed eight billion on Tuesday. “This unprecedented growth is due to the gradual increase in life expectancy due to improvements in health care, nutrition, personal hygiene and medicine. It is also the result of high and persistent birth rates in some countries,” the UN said recently.
The question is whether the world’s population will actually break the eight billion mark on Tuesday (November 15). Because it is impossible to keep track of hundreds of thousands of births and deaths per day, the UN has chosen the middle of the month for the Humanity Milestone.
In 2037, there should already be 9 billion
There is no end to the rise in sight. The number of people on Earth will likely continue to grow initially, albeit at a slower rate. The UN estimates that by 2037 there will be nine billion. According to projections, humanity will only stop growing from the 2080s, when there will be 10.4 billion people.
