Mondragon Corporation is holding its 2022 Congress today, Tuesday, at the Kursaal in San Sebastián, an annual event that brings together representatives of the cooperatives integrated in the group. Both have begun consultations among staff to seek their views. Ulma and Orona are the largest companies in Mondragon’s industrial division, with more than 10,000 employees and more than half of all the company’s profits.
In case of Ulma, based in Oñati, has started meetings last week with the different divisions of the group so that those in charge can present their plan. The same process takes place in Orona. Both cooperatives want to leave the Mondragon group because they claim to have “more autonomy”. The decision will be submitted to the partners for a vote in the first half of December.
