More residents soon? – Scandal house Salzburg wants to increase capacity

Date:

The home operator Senecura probably wants to take in more senior citizens in Salzburg-Lehen soon.

It’s been almost two months since the health care scandal in Lehen came to light – and yet the operators are apparently already thinking about expanding the population. The ombudsman had previously submitted a damning report on the house. There was talk of neglected, starving residents and overworked employees.

Number of residents decreased after allegations
According to the report, the state’s home supervisor did nothing about the situation and then state councilor Heinrich Schellhorn resigned. The nursing home had to downsize from 90 to 50 residents. That should have stabilized the situation somewhat, temporary workers relieve the staff. According to insiders, the situation is still far from ideal.

Now the profit-oriented company is apparently already thinking about an increase. This would have been the subject of a recent service meeting. At the beginning of next year, an additional 30 seniors will have to be taken in, even though many of the temporary workers will not help in the house until December…
