An accident at work is like a lightning strike in your life. The road back to normal life is long. Two award-winning Carinthian returnees talk about it.
Pressed against the bars by a pallet truck, buried by a trailer. Two examples of industrial accidents that occurred 123,156 times in Austria alone last year. One of the injured: Christoph Unterhauser. He was pushed against a barrier by a 1.4 tonne pallet truck and became trapped in the neck/head area. The nerve damage left the right hand completely unusable and the vocal cords paralyzed. “When you realize what happened in intensive care, you feel the worst. If you motivate yourself together with others during rehabilitation, things start to look better for the first time,” says the man from Villach.
