Estonia promptly responded – Putin’s “cook” sent a “bloody” hammer to the EU

Date:

The businessman and head of the notorious Wagner mercenary group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, is known for his tough stance, not least since the devastating offensive war against Ukraine. Now he has given the EU a gift that should probably be taken as a threat – namely a sledgehammer smeared with fake blood. The EU does not want to accept this – Estonia’s foreign minister promptly responded to the move.

The sledgehammer was handed over to a member of the European Parliament by Prigozhin’s lawyer, as the Belarusian medium “Nexta” reported – a video of the handover is currently circulating in Russian propaganda channels. The sledgehammer has two details: the engraved Wagner logo and red markings on the wooden handle. However, this should just be a matter of color.

The unwelcome gift could also be an allusion to a group of mercenaries murdering a former Russian prisoner who allegedly defected to Ukraine. Using video in a Telegram channel, soldiers showed how they executed the man with a sledgehammer.

Estonia responded with a gift
However, Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu does not want to tolerate such threatening gestures. He also shared a video because he also had a gift for Prigozhin, as he explained. Namely handcuffs “for the crimes against the people of Ukraine,” Reinsalu said. After all, they would already be waiting for Prigozhin and his accomplices at the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

The EU itself has recently continued to show a clear lead over the Kremlin. Only on Wednesday did the European Parliament officially classify Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism and sharply condemn the “deliberate attacks and atrocities”.
