Accident in fog – van overturns: passenger died in the UKH

There was dense fog and the driver was also very foggy with 1.6 promille: in Königswiesen in Upper Austria, a van occupied by six people from the Mühlviertel overturned on Saturday evening. The passenger (47) had to be resuscitated, but later died in the Linz UKH.

At around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, a 42-year-old from the Perg district was driving a van in the municipality of Königswiesen with five other occupants aged 47, 33, 16, 33 and four years old. Due to the thick fog, the driver left the roadway, fell over the adjacent steep shoulder, rolled over and came to a stop on an unpaved road.

An alcohol test showed 1.6 promille
The passenger was seriously injured in the accident and had to be resuscitated. The four other occupants suffered minor injuries, the driver was unharmed. The alcohol test showed a value of 1.6 promille, which is why the driver’s license was taken away. The occupants received medical attention from paramedics and rescue services and were taken to hospital.

Died in hospital
Due to the serious injuries, the 47-year-old died in hospital that night.
