Traditionally, the season starts on May 1 in many Styrian outdoor pools. In Weiz, the regulars are already ready – here you can swim even when it rains and the temperatures are not so summery. Where things are already starting, where we still have to wait and where new ones are opening.
The water in the pools of the Weiz swimming pool is 24 degrees – exceptionally warm for the start of the season. “We guarantee this to our guests. The pools are heated with district heating,” says Gerald Egger, head of the local farm. “That’s why we can start on May 1, even if the weather is not always perfect.” Whether it is 25 degrees and a blue sky, like on Tuesday, or clouds blocking the sun, like on Wednesday: “The regulars are there from now on. May 1. These are mainly retirees who stay fit by swimming. Some even come several times a day.”
