KV’s fifth round of negotiations in the telecom sector was also interrupted without result on Monday evening. After the board of the partly state-owned company A1 Telekom had not made an offer acceptable to the negotiating team of the trade union GPF, the negotiations were broken off, according to the employee representatives.
Business meetings will be held across Austria on Tuesday morning, during which A1 colleagues will be extensively briefed on the status of the KV negotiations, the union said.
Werner Luksch, head of the A1 works council and negotiator for the trade union of postal and telecommunications workers (GPF), is disappointed with the progress of the negotiations: “Unfortunately, the board of A1 Telekom is not prepared to reward the performance of our colleagues with a sustained increase in their salaries.”
10.6 percent salary increase required
During the working meetings, feedback will be obtained from staff and they will find out what they think of the board’s actions to date, the GPF said. It concerns the 10,000 employees of the partly state and listed group. The workers’ representatives demand a salary increase of 10.6 percent.
