In the case of the murder that took place in Schwarzach (Vorarlberg) on Wednesday evening, further details about the past of the victim and the alleged perpetrator are now emerging. In 2021 there was domestic violence, but both spouses were acquitted at the time.
As the prosecutor’s office confirmed on Thursday, the couple’s relationship has already ended with the judiciary. At the time, in August 2021, the Feldkirch Regional Court was dealing with domestic violence. The woman accused her husband of pulling her hair, kicking and hitting her – several times. He also allegedly pushed her down the stairs once.
The later murder victim, in turn, accused his wife of “scratching” him. He also denied all allegations.
Alcohol in the game?
The woman then admitted that her husband’s behavior had improved since he was in therapy at the Institute for Social Services (IFS). However, the man said he was only doing this therapy to better cope with his wife’s alcohol problems.
Both were acquitted at the time. Investigators are still waiting for the results of the autopsy and toxicology report. The 37-year-old is already in jail.
