It was a particularly shocking case that took place last December in Villach-Land. A then 28-year-old Romanian lost control of the wheel in an argument with his fiancée. The killer was tried on Wednesday.
Because the 29-year-old Romanian had come home later, the couple, who were in the red light district, got into a fight. When his cell phone fell to the floor, the then 28-year-old lost control and hit his fiancée with a wooden baseball bat he carved himself until she lay motionless on the floor.
He then unsuccessfully tried to resuscitate the woman, who, however, should have succumbed to her serious injuries immediately. The Romanian then took the body to Villach and deposited it before the district authority. Passersby immediately called the police, who immediately arrested the 28-year-old.
Jurors find Romanians guilty
The man was sentenced by a grand jury to 19 years in prison on Wednesday. In addition, the Romanian must pay 15,000 euros in compensation to the brother of the victim.
Serial murders of women in Austria
During interrogation, he confessed and gave jealousy as a motive. Unfortunately, this case fits seamlessly into the series of murders of women that happen again and again in Austria. This year alone, 28 women have been murdered and 25 narrowly escaped attempted murder.
