This holiday started badly! Two guests from Bavaria emptied their car in Pfarrwerfen (Salzburg) on Thursday evening. The car suddenly rolled away, fell 100 meters over a slope and came to a stop in the forest. Fortunately there was no one in the car.
The holidaymakers had parked their car in front of an old farmhouse almost 1,000 meters above sea level in Pfarrwerfen. They were just about to unload their luggage when the car suddenly rolled away onto the gently sloping access road. The owner was unable to stop the car.
The vehicle rolled over a 100-meter-long, steep meadow and came to a stop 50 meters further in the forest after overturning. No one was injured in the incident and the car was a total loss.
The parish volunteer fire brigade with three vehicles and 14 men were able to save the car with the energetic help of a farmer and his tractor.
