On Thursday evening, a 22-year-old in the Liebenau district of Graz attacked his mother with a knife while she was preparing dinner. The 44-year-old woman had to be taken to the Graz regional hospital with serious injuries to her hands.
Shortly before 8 p.m., the 22-year-old Syrian from Graz attacked in the kitchen. After the woman’s 45-year-old ex-husband (also from Syria) left the room, the son suddenly went mad. The mother, who actually lives in Northern Ireland, was cutting vegetables when her son grabbed the kitchen knife and attacked her with it.
Serious hand injury
The 45-year-old, who had just left the kitchen, heard the argument and separated the son from the mother. During the attack, she suffered serious injuries to her hands and was taken to the Graz Regional Hospital.
The 22-year-old has been arrested. The reason for the attack is still unclear. The hearings are scheduled for today.
