As a government draft shows, there will soon be changes to the Corona rules again. In concrete terms, this concerns visits and employees in healthcare institutions where the 3G rule now applies.
The 3G rule for visitors and employees in hospitals, sanatoria and homes for the elderly and nursing homes will probably soon disappear. According to the “Salzburger Nachrichten”, this provides for a draft amendment to the basic measures regulation Covid 19.
Mask requirement remains
On the other hand, the obligation to wear masks in these facilities should remain. As before, individual federal states can provide for stricter measures.
The current scheme is valid until January 15
The regulation currently in force is limited to January 15. Experts “are constantly looking at which protective measures are opportune,” said the cabinet of Health Minister Johannes Rauch (Greens) on Friday afternoon. The corona measures in vulnerable areas such as hospitals are currently being evaluated.

The effective reproduction number, which indicates how many more people an infected person infects, remained stable at 1.06, just above the critical limit of 1.0. According to AGES, the number of new infections has risen for the third week in a row, with a daily increase rate of 3.4 percent (last week 3.0 percent).
Doctors and pharmacies intensify vaccination campaign
Meanwhile, doctors and pharmacies are stepping up their supply again at the end of this year’s vaccination campaign. From 2 to 10 December, they will be offering their patients and customers all over Austria consultations on corona vaccinations, vaccines and COVID-19 medication. A free vaccination pass check should reveal vaccination gaps beyond the corona vaccination. The Ministry of Health is cooperating with the Austrian Medical Association and the Austrian Chamber of Pharmacists for the consultation week.
