The fire brigade of Bad St. Leonhard in Carinthia had to go on a mission early Monday morning. A car caught fire on the A2.
On Monday morning at half past six, the alarm went off at the Bad St. Leonhard fire brigade. The emergency services found the burning vehicle of a 43-year-old Croat near the Bad St. Leonhard motorway exit. According to the driver, the battery indicator lit up first, then the engine stopped and immediately started to burn.
“When we got there, the car was already completely engulfed in flames,” explains fire chief Andreas Baumgartner. “Fortunately, the occupants were able to get out of the vehicle in time and were not injured.”
The extinguishing work, in which the FF Preitenegg also helped, lasted almost two hours until the emergency services were able to move in again.
