A 19-year-old woman lost control of the wheel in the parking lot of the Bürs shopping center in Vorarlberg on Monday night and collided with the left side of her car against the shopping cart of a supermarket. The impact caused her to become trapped in the vehicle.
The unusual accident happened around 10:30 p.m. She had to be freed from the wreckage by the alerted fire brigade with rescue scissors. The injured person was then taken by the rescue team to the Feldkirch State Hospital. The car is a total loss.
Passenger was unharmed
Her passenger, who was also 19, was unharmed and was able to get out of the car on her own. An alcohol test on the driver was negative. The shopping cart box was severely damaged in the accident. The fire brigade of Bürs and Bludenz was deployed with a total of 40 people, two rescue vehicles and an emergency doctor.
