Attempted murder – driver of the accident ran woman over because she was filming

Date:

A man in the US wanted to commit a hit and run. Now it’s attempted murder.

Vincent Jean drove his silver Mitsubishi SUV into the back of a young woman’s car at 8:20 a.m. in the small town of Elizabeth, New Jersey. When the 23-year-old got out of her car, Jean tried to flee. But when the 56-year-old saw his accident victim shooting videos of his car from the sidewalk using his cell phone, he suddenly drove toward her at full throttle.

Run over victim twice
An eyewitness captured on his cell phone camera the panicked woman trying unsuccessfully to get to safety in a front yard. “Jean drove his SUV down the sidewalk onto the lawn and ran over his victim,” District Attorney William Daniel said in a statement. “Then he backed up and ran over the woman again.”

After the shocking act, Jean ran away. The driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains in critical condition. Thanks to the witnesses, Jean’s car was quickly identified and the brutal driver was arrested. He is on trial for attempted murder.
