Carefree partying and dancing, that’s going out. To keep it that way, the Viennese cult discotheque U4 is now part of the Viennese initiative “I’m your lifeline” and thus clearly positions itself against sexual harassment.
All employees are trained to be sensitive and supportive when women are victims of sexual harassment. “It is important that every woman is taken seriously if she feels harassed,” says councilor Kathrin Gaál (SPÖ).
Gaál started the initiative four years ago at the Danube Island Festival and it has since been rolled out all over Vienna. An information campaign is underway throughout Vienna for the “16 days against violence”. Under the motto “Nothing is OK with KO drops!” This calls for attention and civic courage.
