Turkish drone maker Baykar has made a name for itself in unmanned aviation with its Bayraktar TB2 drones, which are used by Ukraine against Putin’s invading forces. Now the group is working on an even more advanced system: the Kizilelma (“Red Apple”) stealth drone.
Powered by a single jet engine from Ukrainian supplier Ivchenko-Progress, the new Turkish reconnaissance and combat drone resembles China’s Chengdu J-20 stealth fighter. Only that there is no pilot in it: Baykar’s “red apple” should work autonomously in many scenarios – and seems well advanced in development, as the manufacturer shows in a new video.
