There was cause for celebration at Innsbruck Airport on Saturday afternoon: the first direct flight from Paris landed with 34 passengers on board. In the future, there will be flights twice a week in both directions.
The machine of the French Air France Hop, a regional airline, was greeted cheerfully by the airport staff – the crew was given a bit of French baguette. With immediate effect, the airline will fly the Innsbruck-Paris route once on Saturday and Sunday, allowing connections to other destinations as well.
For now until March 5
“The new connection brings French guests to their winter holiday in Tyrol in a simple and uncomplicated way,” says airport director Marco Pernetta. For now, the four weekly flights are scheduled until March 5, 2023. Pernetta emphasizes that it is hoped “that this can be the start of a long-term collaboration”.
