Some Tyroleans were awakened from their sleep in the Lechtal on Thursday night. This was caused by an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.2. The shaking caused no damage.
The epicenter was in the municipality of Bach (district of Reutte). Just before 3:30 a.m., the residents there were awakened from their sleep. “The quakes reached a magnitude of 2.2,” said the Austrian seismological service of the Central Institute of Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG).
The bumps “were perceived by some people as distinct shaking and rumbling.” There were currently no reports of damage to buildings. These are not to be expected in an earthquake of this magnitude, it said.
