With a conviction of her husband this summer, the life of a 46-year-old from the Mostviertel in Lower Austria must at least temporarily come to rest. But suddenly the 42-year-old was at her door again.
The woman had previously been hospitalized and threatened several times by her partner – and was not the 42-year-old’s first victim. For about two and a half years, the man got out and ended up where the “serious cases” actually belong – in Stein Prison. But this very circumstance should have made it easier for him to get some fresh air outside the prison walls.

As a spokesman for the infamous “Felsen” explains, all prisoners with sentences of less than three years are sent to the relaxed prison system, which includes getting out. And the convict used one of them to visit his ex after six months, despite the warrant. “Fortunately, my eldest son opened the door,” says the shocked woman, who is also called 16 times a day by the 42-year-old.
Another life full of worries
Although she has now reported the crime again, she has lived with great concern ever since – not only for herself, but also for her ten-year-old son. The fact that she was not informed of the latest outcome by the Center for Violence Protection as usual also contributes to this.
“No problems”
“He has been free several times and there have never been any problems,” the prison said. It must first be determined how to proceed with the detainees.
