During a storm, Dominik Vindl from Grinzens pulled his five-year-old godson Laura at the last minute from Melach in Lüsens, Tyrol, which had overflowed its banks. In an interview with the “Krone” he recalls the dramatic situation.
23-year-old Dominik Vindl spent his first Alpine summer this year on the Lüsener Alm directly behind the well-known inn in Lüsens. There, in the Stubai Mountains, he helped his cousin and godfather Dietmar Holzknecht with the mountain work. Dietmar’s family was also there during these weeks: his wife Melanie and their two children Laura (5) and Lena (3).
The hoped-for fun evening did not materialize
On Friday 22 July everything seemed ready for a pleasant evening. Of course, things didn’t go as planned.
