The snowfall started in large parts of Upper Austria in the late afternoon on Friday. Especially at higher altitudes, the white splendor remained on the street. And that caused many accidents. In Traunkirchen, a snow plow even fell off a slope (we reported).

There was also a serious accident in Zwettl an der Rodl. A 59-year-old from Traberg drove a bus on the B126 towards Zwettl an der Rodl around 6 p.m. There were also several passengers on the bus. At the same time, a 24-year-old driver from Alkoven was driving together with a 51-year-old (also from Alkoven), a 43-year-old and a 20-year-old, both from Wilhering.

In the vicinity of Langzwettl, municipality of Zwettl an der Rodl, at StrKm 22.6, the car entered the oncoming carriageway in a right turn and collided head-on with the oncoming bus. All four occupants of the car suffered minor or serious injuries and were taken to Freistadt hospital and the UKH Linz. The bus occupants and driver were not injured.
