The CUPRA León eTSI 150 CV DSG is intended for lovers of strong emotions

CUPRA goes one step further to reach lovers of strong emotions and launches the Leon sTSI 150 CV DSG on the market. The new entry version of the compact sport corresponds to the engine with Mild-Hybrid 1.5 eTSI technology of 150 hp (110 kW) and DSG transmission. In this way, the CUPRA DNA with its design, sporty behavior and technology reaches a larger number of customers.

The brand, which has been successful for four years since it started its journey in 2018 as an independent company, is launching this new model for those customers “who like to live their lives and not be led”, as stated by CUPRA’s Director of Communications, Carlos de Luis, in his official presentation.

The 150 hp eTSI version of the CUPRA León benefits from the advantages of the DGT ECO label, available for the first time in the CUPRA range.

The engine range for the Leon is completed with petrol engines and plug-in hybrids. As a novelty, in addition to the one that concerns us here with 150 hp Mild-Hybrid technology, the newly installed 2.0 TSI 190 hp (140 kW) petrol block with front-wheel drive and DSG transmission is also striking. This is followed by the most powerful variants, such as the 245 CV 2.0 TSI (also front-wheel drive and with DSG), the 300 CV 2.0 TSI (of the same configuration) and finally, exclusively for the Sportstourer body, the 2.0 TSI of 310 hp with integral traction 4Drive and change DSG. The range is complemented by two e-HYBRID plug-in hybrid variants with ZERO environmental label, with 204 and 245 hp power, with front-wheel drive and DSG transmission.

If we focus on the standard equipment of this new version, the Full LED headlights with infinity rear light and dynamic turn signals stand out, the rear diffuser in body color with Dark Aluminum tailpipes, a specific rear spoiler in black or 46 cm (18 ”) Machined alloy sports wheels in black and silver.

Includes black front sports seats with copper stitching, multifunction leather steering wheel with gearshift paddles, 26 cm (10.25″) Digital Cockpit Instrument Panel, 25.4 cm (10″) infotainment screen, wireless mobile phone charger (Connectivity Box), Kessy keyless entry and start system, three-zone climate control with second row controls, rain and light sensor, rear parking sensor, electrically heated and folding mirrors, CUPRA Connect (to perform functions remotely via the app), driving with CUPRA Drive Profile Mode Selector, Progressive Steering System, Cruise Control, Low/High Beam Assist (Light Assist), Lane Departure Assist (Lane Assist), Emergency Braking Assist with Pedestrian, Cyclist and Vehicle Detection (Front Assist), or the 7 airbags, where the center front airbag stands out.

Another novelty in the optional equipment are the Matrix LED headlights, which make it possible to drive at night with the main beam always on and without dazzling other vehicles. A series of LED diodes turn on and off in sections in real time, while the front camera detects the position of the vehicles, moving both in the same direction and in the opposite direction. Likewise, they optimize the light beam, increasing light capacity, precision and comfort.

Optional interior equipment also includes the larger 30.5 cm (12″) infotainment screen and leather-trimmed bucket seats with contrast stitching on the dashboard, all in petrol blue or black. It can also be completed with the Beats Audio System sound system, the electric panoramic roof, the copper colored wheels or the various decorative elements such as the side sills or the black rear spoiler.

In terms of design, the CUPRA logo on the grille stands out, together with the large air intakes framed by a sporty spoiler in the color ‘Dark Aluminium’, which further emphasize the aggressive look of the Leon.

On the side of the new vehicle model are the optional side skirts integrated in the “Design Pack” package m and the exterior mirrors, also in “Dark Aluminium”, which contrast with the body color and express the aggressive character and model in bold.

The new model is already in CUPRA Garages across Spain for interested customers to get to know, with a waiting period of two to two and a half months to purchase it.
