Employees of the Osakidetza Basque Center for Transfusions and Human Tissues demonstrated this Saturday in Bilbao, called by the unions Satse, ELA, LAB, UGT, CCOO and Utese to denounce the “salary discrimination”.reason why they will go on strike for four days next week between Tuesday 20 and Friday 23 December.
The demonstration started at noon from the headquarters of the Ministry of Health in the capital of Biscay and ended at the Plaza Circular.
As reported by ELA, “the staff representatives they tried to talk to advisor Gotzone Sagarduiagain, on December 7, but the approach was useless, as the Ministry and Osakidetza have made it clear that they do not want to correct this situation of injustice.
The union regrets that the collective of the Basque Center for Transfusions and Human Tissues “works under conditions inferior to those of the rest of the templates in the sector” and therefore demand that they be equated.
That’s how he explained it the staff is “fully integrated into the Usansolo-Galdakao hospital and throughout the Osakidetza network, supplying blood and tissue to the entire Basque Autonomous Community”.
“Thanks to their work, all hospitals, health workers from other centers and patients have blood to transfuse, tissues to implant and blood products to treat pathologies,” he stressed.
For ELA, “the only way to resolve the conflict is negotiationand for this reason it has again called on the Ministry of Health, Osakidetza and the Directorate of the Center for Transfusions and Human Tissues to “take steps in that direction”.
