According to the witness, the collision happened on Saturday afternoon after he had driven about 400 meters when he could no longer control his nine-year-old Mercedes due to a lack of tire pressure when braking. The pedestrian was even pushed against a wall and fell. However, the man insisted that he was not injured and, despite being asked to wait for the police together, left the scene of the accident before the officers arrived. The driver, who claims to need a large car for work and was on a business trip, also told police.

Police confirmed on Sunday that the incident had been reported by the man and reported further cases of “abandoned tires” on so-called SUVs in Döbling.
