Unsolved Cases – The Fate of Missing Persons Remains a Mystery

Date:

Despite all the searches and public phone calls, the fate of Siegfried Oberrauch (79) from Angerberg in the Tyrolean Unterland is still unclear. As reported, he disappeared with his car in Kirchbichl in the fall. After a report in the “Krone” and a TV manhunt program, a number of tips came in that are currently being investigated. A 57-year-old from Natters (Innsbruck-Land district) has also disappeared without a trace.

For Katja Tersch, head of the Tiroler Staatsrecherche, the disappearance of Oberrauch is one of the “most special of recent years”. Because the Unterländer disappeared on October 23, 2021 together with its striking blue Audi TT. Until the last hours, the man’s daily life was completely normal, which is also confirmed by the next of kin.

Last on event
During a shooting at the Grattenbrücke inn in Kirchbichl, a witness took the last photo of “Sigi” for the time being. Hours later, in the early evening, his mobile phone was for the last time near the former Gasthof Waldruhe on the Tyrolean main road, a few hundred meters from the event.

Notifications after calling
The “Krone” took up the mysterious case more than two weeks ago and at the same time a film was broadcast on the Servus TV program “Fahhrung Österreich”.

“The echo was relatively large, we also received tips outside of Tyrol,” says LKA boss Tersch. However, there are only a handful of substantial clues that are now being pursued with legitimately little hope. Tersch emphasizes: “This case seems to affect people, many people have clearly thought about it.”

Natterer (57) last seen at Innsbruck inn
Family members and detectives also have a lot of thoughts in the case of a missing person from Natters. On March 31, the 57-year-old parked his white Mazda 3 in Rossau in Innsbruck, on the Inn Promenade by the lake.

The search effort following the missing persons report was enormous: “We searched the Inn and the quarry lake with nine boats and up to 80 helpers, including divers,” explains Anna Mörth, the chief of police in Mutters. Meanwhile, the collecting basin and rake at the Kirchbichl power station have also been examined twice without finding anything.

The LKA Tyrol also requests information about these missing persons cases by telephone via 059 133/70-3333.
