Racist Sager – “White Values”: Orban Vice causes a scandal after the World Cup

Date:

While Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban personally attended the World Cup final, the Vice President of his party (Fidesz), Szilard Nemeth (pictured top right), drew attention with a remark about the outcome of the World Cup. The winner represents “white, Christian, European values,” he wrote on social media.

Nemeth was just one of many Hungarian politicians who were happy with the World Cup winner. Both Orban and President Katalin Novak expressed their views. Nemeth’s reaction, however, caused real horror on the internet: “A white, Christian nation representing European values became world champion. Come on, Argentina!”

Critics see the statement as racist – the reference to the French team is quite obvious.

The commissioner of ancillary costs as World Cup expert
Nemeth is considered by political scientists to be Orbán’s rough man. He was already a state secretary, but he only really became known as the so-called ancillary costs commissioner. He has an opinion not only about the World Cup, but also about the NGOs in Hungary: “We must push back these organizations by all means. They need to be taken away from here,” he said in 2017.

So now the next derailment.

Orban is happy for Messi
While Orban was happy with Messi’s triumph (quote: “It is written. The smallest became the greatest”), the Hungarian president also underlined Messi’s role as a family man. Apparently there was no one at Fidesz for France…
