About 25 meters over steep, rocky terrain, a 48-year-old fell in Tyrol’s Bad Häring (Kufstein district) around 1 a.m. on Sunday. The wintry conditions probably proved fatal for the pedestrian. He had to be rescued by mountain rescue.
The 48-year-old resident was walking from the Werlberg to Bad Häring when he slipped on the snowy road. The alerted fire brigade was able to locate him in the forest and a paramedic from the fire brigade treated the injured.
Pulled up with a pulley
As a result, mountain rescuers from Kufstein abseiled to the victim and built a pulley system. With that, the seriously injured person was pulled 25 meters up the driveway in the mountain stretcher. The ambulance took him there and the rescue took him to Kufstein Hospital.
This was the 105th mission this year for the mountain rescuers of Kufstein. It was not until four in the morning that the five emergency services of the local office were able to “close the day”.
