A 58-year-old man drowned Monday in a quarry in Rankweil-Brederis in Vorarlberg. The man had gone to the lake to go fishing. The police assume that the fisherman fell into the water and was unable to save himself.
The shock must be deep for the relatives. They had reported the 58-year-old missing in the early evening. Water rescue divers finally found the body around 11 p.m. near his usual fishing spot in seven meters of water.
Debts to third parties are excluded
Unfortunately, the emergency doctor’s resuscitation attempts were to no avail. An autopsy was ordered by the medical police to determine the exact cause of death. The police ruled out debts to third parties for the time being, but there were no indications for this on site.
50 people from the water rescue, fire, police, mountain rescue including dog unit and the Red Cross were involved in the search and rescue of the man.
