A serious traffic accident occurred on Tuesday morning on Grazer Bundesstraße in the Gnigl district of Salzburg (B158). A pedestrian was run over by a bus.
The 54-year-old from Salzburg ran towards the city center to the bus stop and tripped or slipped, according to several witnesses and the approaching 43-year-old bus driver. She fell leg first and slid sideways under the bus. The woman was run over at the level of her lower body by the bus tires on the second and third wheel axles.
After first aid from the Red Cross and the emergency doctor, the Salzburg woman had to be taken to Salzburg University Hospital. Due to the serious injury, an alcohol test was not possible for her. The bus driver’s alcohol test was negative. The B158 was completely closed off during the operation.
