37 people had to be brought to safety: Employees of a company in Hörsching (Upper Austria) reported a strong smell of gas from the heating plant of the company premises on Wednesday around 12:15 p.m. The carbon monoxide value was exceeded 25 times!
A gas measurement carried out on site by Linz AG showed that the carbon monoxide content was already 25 times the limit value and posed an acute health risk. The fire brigade, the rescue service and the police were immediately alerted. The site was cordoned off over a large area and firefighters carried out an evacuation of the building, which contained 37 people, using heavy respiratory protection.
No injuries
All evacuees were medically examined and no injuries were found. The fire brigade ventilated all rooms; the building could then be released again.
