The World Health Organization (WHO) has expressed its “very deep concern” about the deteriorating corona infection situation in China. There are increasing reports from the People’s Republic of serious illnesses after being infected with the coronavirus, WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Wednesday. He stressed that his organization supports China in focusing its efforts on vaccinating the populations most at risk from the virus.

Crematoriums report a sharp increase in the number of deaths

Change in the criteria for registering corona deaths
On Tuesday, the Chinese authorities announced a change in the criteria for registering corona deaths. Accordingly, only those who died directly from respiratory failure due to the virus are counted as corona deaths. Previously, as in other countries around the world, all people who died from a disease during a corona infection were counted as corona deaths. Despite the high number of infections, not a single new death was officially reported in China this Wednesday.
