In Austria, 5731 new corona infections were reported on Tuesday. That was above average, where 4,736 new infections were added daily in the past week, according to AGES. On Wednesday morning, 1,250 infected people were in hospital, which is 33 minutes compared to the day before. Of these, 65 are in intensive care, eight less than the day before.
On Tuesday, 13 corona deaths were reported. However, there have been late reports in Vienna in recent days and there are therefore repeated delays in the reports. In the past week, 59 people died after a corona infection.
The pandemic has so far claimed 21,345 lives in Austria. There are currently 50,307 lab-confirmed active cases – and the trend continues. The seven-day incidence in Austria currently stands at 367.2 infections per 100,000 inhabitants, up from 380.9 the day before.
