Spectacular Easter traffic accident on Sunday morning in the Ausserfern region of Tyrol: A drunk driver collided with the oncoming carriageway of the Fernpass road and collided with two cars, tearing the left front wheel of his car. Instead of stopping, the suspected cause of the accident fled – with three wheels! The last stop was only after two kilometers. Five people, including a child, suffered minor injuries in the collision.
The accident happened around 09:30 am on the B179 near Bichlbach. The 25-year-old driver from Innsbruck ended up in the oncoming lane and collided with two cars. In these cars were holidaymakers from Germany and Luxembourg on their way home.
Left front wheel is broken off
“As a result of the collision, the left front wheel of the 25-year-old’s car was torn off. The suspect continued driving with only three wheels, about two kilometers to Lähn,” a police officer told Krone. That was the end of the line. A breath test in Innsbrucker eventually revealed that he was heavily intoxicated.
Five detainees taken to hospital for examination
Of the seven occupants of the holiday cars, five people – including a child – suffered minor injuries. “They have been brought to the district hospital of Reutte for examination. However, they were all able to leave the hospital again,” the official continued. The 25-year-old from Innsbruck has been reported!
