A woman from the Innviertel region of Upper Austria has to answer in court for attempted murder. She allegedly tried to slit her husband’s throat. Before that, she would have served him a sleep-inducing meal.
The attack on the husband would have been planned for a long time – now Ried’s prosecutor’s office has filed an attempted murder charge against a 31-year-old from St. Florian/Inn, who allegedly attacked her husband with a knife in early August. The mother of four, who was undergoing psychological treatment, had previously “put the 40-year-old to sleep.”
Blade didn’t go deep enough
“She would have mixed psychotropic drugs with his food that have a calming effect,” said Alois Ebner, spokesman for Ried’s public prosecutor’s office, about the charges served on Thursday. When the man was asleep, the woman allegedly tried to slit his throat with a knife that could not be found. The knife didn’t go deep enough and left an eight inch wound.
Victim screamed for help
The 40-year-old woke up in pain and screamed for help. His wife also administered first aid while their 13-year-old daughter called 911 at 11 p.m. In the hospital of Passau, doctors save the lives of the seriously injured.
The woman would have accounted for herself on several occasions, in the last years of quarrels and jealousy, as well as the psychological problems, would have been the motive. According to the certificate of psychiatrist Adelheid Kastner, the woman is guilty. The trial date is still open.
