The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has sent a Christmas message of hope in “difficult circumstances” following the Russian invasion, a situation in which he has called for “courage and courage”. “We will return freedom to all Ukrainian men and women“, he assured, because “no kamikaze plane is capable of knocking out the Christmas aurora”.
“We will see its glow even underground in a bomb shelter. We will fill our hearts with warmth and light,” he said.
The president has referred to “planned blackouts or emergency shutdowns”, adding that “we will never feel a lack of courage and intransigence”. For this reason he has called to celebrate Christmas “singing carols with more power than the sound of a generator”.
For his part, the President of Russia, Vladimir Putinhas shown willingness to negotiate with Ukraine, but added that both Kyiv and its Western allies refuse to do so.
“We are prepared to negotiate acceptable solutions with all parties involvedbut it’s in your hand. We are not the ones refusing to negotiate, but they are,” Putin said in an interview on Russian state television.
Putin has defended that “we are moving in the right direction” as Russia has “no choice” but to “protect” its citizens.
